"The vote is the most powerful instrument ever devised by man for breaking down injustice and destroying the terrible walls which imprison men because they are different from other men." ― Lyndon B. Johnson
It is imperative that we all do more to get involved at the local level. We need to elect Progressives to local offices so that we can build a bench of experienced candidates to run for higher office. Here are some ways you can help.
Be a Volunteer Voter Registrar
Data show us that when more people are registered to vote, the electorate becomes more liberal. Registering voters is one of the most important things we can do to Turn 31 Blue. Both Williamson County and Bell County have low rates of voter registration. We need to work on this to be effective in getting Progressives into office.
Christine has been a volunteer voter registrar for most of the last decade. She has participated in voter registration drives hosted by Battleground Texas and the Williamson County Democratic Party, the Wendy Davis campaign, and the Travis County voter outreach program, as well has organizing registration drives on her own. Being a voter registrar is easy! Click on the links below to see how to get trained.

Become a Precinct Chair
Precinct chairs are critical to the success of any election. They are responsible for helping candidates set up phone banks and block walks, register voters and gathering data relevant for their precinct. They are voting members of their County Party and they help plan the direction of the party. Precinct chairs are highly motivated to help get candidates into office.
