Community Service

“Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.” ― Albert Einstein

CASA is a national organization dedicated to providing a designated advocate to appear in court on behalf of every abused and neglected child in the CPS system. As part of her work as a CASA volunteer, Christine regularly met with her CASA kids, their parents, and guardians; interviewed their teachers, daycare providers, and physicians; developed advocacy plans for the children; and appeared in family court to speak for the children's best interests.

Christine regards her work with CASA as some of the most challenging yet rewarding work she has ever done.

Christine is an Associate Clinical Professor for the University of North Texas Science Center-Ft. Worth, Texas College of Medicine. Each year, Christine teaches students in her Family Practice office as part of their medical school training, providing them with a wide spectrum of experiences as seen in a community medical office.

Sanctuary in the Streets is a grassroots organization working to protect undocumented immigrants from deportation. When the current administration made it clear that they would be targeting these vulnerable people, Christine and her husband participated in training with the group designed to peacefully protest these types of arrests.

Round Rock High School

Christine was recruited by Round Rock Medical Center to open her medical practice, Cornerwood Family Medicine, in Round Rock in 1999. As part of her commitment to the Round Rock Community, she served as the team physician for Round Rock High School for several seasons.

LISD Clothes Closet

The LISD Clothes Closet is a Leander-based free clothing resource for low income children, run by the LISD PTA. Christine has both served as a volunteer working in the facility and donated frequently.

Bagdad Elementary Backpack Program

Bagdad Elementary school in Leander has the highest percentage of low income students in the district. Many of these children struggle not only with school participation, but also with food security. The school's principal and teachers organized a program to provide students with food that they could take home with them. Christine and her family are proud to have contributed to this worthy program.

Cornerwood Family Medicine Associates

As part of her dedication to helping the community, Christine and her staff at her practice Cornerwood Family Medicine Associates in Round Rock collected and donated toiletries to local homeless shelters.

LEO Lunch Sponsor

LEO, or Leander Extended Opportunity Center, provides a structured learning environment for at-risk children in the Leander Independent School District. These children often come from low income families who struggle with food security. Christine and her family have donated to the school lunch program to help ensure that no child is forced to miss a meal at school.
