Central Texas Jobs
"I learned the value of hard work by working hard." ― Margaret Mead
Central Texas has experienced an explosive population growth over the last 10 years. People from all over the country have come to our part of the state as they recognize the beauty of our land, the wealth of opportunity, and the warmth of our people. The Central Texas area is expected to continue to grow at a rapid pace over the next several decades.
I am committed to supporting continued growth in my district by working to expand on already existing industries and providing the necessary infrastructure to attract new companies looking to relocate to Central Texas.
We can build on programs that have already been successful in bringing jobs and infrastructure to Central Texas communities.
- Renewable Energy. In Williamson County, the City of Georgetown partnered with the renewable energy industry, resulting in 100% of the city's energy coming from renewable energy sources. Let's find a way to expand on this success, and provide all of Central Texas with energy from renewable sources. Expanding renewable energy in the area will not only help protect the environment, but it will also provide a wealth of new jobs, and will increase the attractiveness of the area to new residents.
- Support of SpaceX. Located just north of Bell County, the SpaceX Rocket Development Facility is a high tech company attracting scientists and researchers to the area. Bell County is ideally situated to promote growth of the facility by expanding and supporting businesses such as restaurants, hotels, sports facilities, and the arts. These businesses can employ people of all skill levels, from entry level to executive, and will provide residents with increased services near them such as restaurants, hotels, sports facilities, and the arts. This will not only provide jobs, but will make the area more attractive to new residents.
Let's work together to keep Central Texas the place for new growth.
